The purpose of the landing page is to convert.  Here are some tips on improving your landing page.</p>
<p><strong>1. Do your research </strong>- If you haven’t done your demographic research, now is the time.  If you have done your research, do some more.  WHO is your ideal customer? Build a customer avatar that reflects who your ideal customer is and what it is they want. Carefully review your landing page and ensure that you are writing directly to your customer avatar. Do not go any broader.  You want to laser focus on your customer avatar and send a targeted message just to them.</p>
<p><strong>2. Stay consistent </strong>– Make sure the colors, fonts and message of your landing page match the ad that got the click.  You want the visitor to feel trust and confidence that they have arrived at the right place.</p>
<p><strong>3. Test your forms </strong>– All too often someone has found that their form has a glitch in it that they weren’t aware of and visitors were simply clicking out of the landing page.  Make sure you are testing the ease of use of your forms on a regular basis.</p>
<p><strong>4. Get rid of any unnecessary elements </strong>– If you have ANY flash animation or anything that takes a long time to load – get rid of it NOW. It’s annoying and the majority of your visitors are not waiting for it to load. They are clicking in, but clicking out before you have a chance to get your message across.</p>
<p><strong>5. Don’t distract from the message</strong> – If you have ANYTHING on your page but your call to action – get rid of it.  No other affiliate links, no Ad Sense.  This is about your call to action and that’s all.  You don’t want your visitor to get confused and click off somewhere else never to come back to you and your message.</p>
<p><strong>6. Keep your important messages above the fold</strong> – Take a good look that the layout of your landing page on the screen.  Do you always have a call to action above the fold?  You should have your call to action several times throughout the landing page, and a good rule of thumb is to always have it in the reader’s vision.  Always have it in the fold.  Make it easy for them to act on the call to action.  Don’t ever make them have to hunt it down.</p>
<p>Remember, your landing page is not a “set it once and forget it” type of project.  It can and should be going through a constant refinement process.  Always strive to increase your conversion rate.  These simple tips should help.</p>
